Enfrentar la crisis climática requiere de la participación e involucramiento de todos los sectores económicos y de la población. Los gobiernos subnacionales, en particular, han adquirido gran relevancia en México y en el mundo, pues un alto porcentaje de acciones de mitigación y adaptación recaen en sus ámbitos de competencia. En este sentido, la Comunidad Climática Mexicana (CCM), se creo como una alianza con el compromiso de acelerar la acción climática a nivel municipal y estatal a través de la coordinación, colaboración y el fortalecimiento de las capacidades de los gobiernos locales.
En mayo de 2024, la CCM cumplió 3 años apoyando a los estados de México en esta misión. Y para conmemorar esta trayectoria, este seminario buscó crear un espacio de diálogo para compartir las experiencias de los estados y municipios que han participado en la iniciativa. Las y los representantes invitados discutieron el involucramiento de su entidad con las actividades de fortalecimiento de capacidades que brinda la CCM, incluyendo aceleradores, acompañamiento técnico y seminarios. A través de los estados, este espacio buscó explorar cómo la Comunidad ha impulsado la acción climática a través de iniciativas concretas, que se ven reflejadas en el avance y consolidación de proyectos a nivel subnacional.
